Blues move for Arsenal youngster

According to a source close to WAB, Blues are working on a deal, highly likely a loan, for Arsenal and England U20 midfielder Josh Dasilva.

Despite yesterday’s official statement confirming a transfer embargo, the Squad of 24 rule indicates that Blues, with a current squad of 23, can bring in another player, within strict guidelines, under the embargo.

Dasilva, who has recently signed a new contract, made his professional debut for the Gunners last season and went on to make three appearances in the League Cup.

Having progressed through Arsenal’s youth system, Dasilva predominantly features in centre midfield but Wenger attempted to fit him in the left-back role.

The former Arsenal manager described him as “physically strong” and having good technical ability for his age.

However with new manager Unai Emery at the helm, the Premier League side will be looking to loan out future stars.
