Blues have today announced the, already well-known, departure of Richard Beale and arrival of Spanish coach Xavi Calm.
Calm joins from sister club, UE Cornella. The 37-year-old arrives at the club, replacing long-standing Senior Professional Development Coach, Richard Beale.
Beale joined Blues in 2003, assisting in the development of youngsters Jack Butland, Demarai Gray and Nathan Redmond, all who have gained caps for the England National Team since.
He was also instrumental in bringing through current first teamers Wes Harding, Charlie Lakin and Josh Dacres-Cogley as well as currently emerging young talent such as Steve Seddon, who today signed a 2 year extension to his Blues contract.
Beale also assisted in guiding Blues’ development squad as runners-up in the PDL 2 North, and into the PDL 2 National Play-Off Final, only to lose to Leeds United.
Calm, who will be assisted by Steve Spooner, guided UE Cornella into the Segunda Division B Play-Offs last season, following a similarly successful spell as assistant-manager. The Spaniard now joins Blues as the U23s Head Coach.
